Fanta is known for releasing limited edition Halloween soda cans over the years, so it’s no surprise that this year would be any different. With the help of Noma Bar, an illustrator most notably known for his work for Time Out London, BBS, Random House, The Observer, The Economist, and many more, Fanta brilliantly created ghoulish personalities for each of the four US flavors.

Each soda flavor directly inspires the illustration to create a flavorful spin on Halloween’s most ‘spooktacular’ characters. Noma stays true to brand by keeping illustrations of Fanta’s fruits on the cans design: orange slices for the eyes of a skeleton or grapes to create flirty lips for the mouth of a witch. There are also clever uses of other smaller supporting details to help each illustration further come to life.

“He finds delightful ways of telling mini-stories within a single illustration, which made for the perfect approach for Fanta’s Halloween packaging,” says Michael Gluzman, design lead for Fanta. “We hope people enjoy the boldness of the characters with the vibrant Fanta colours and get a little surprise discovering the details in the illustrations.”

fanta_skeleton_costumeFanta has already started promoting their new cans on Facebook and Instagram. Using the hashtag #WickedlyFantastic, their customers are encouraged to get creative and share their delight of the new limited edition cans.

“Halloween is the one time of year when teens and adults have an unfettered license to have fun – from festive costumes to themed parties,” said Valencia Mitchell, brand director, Fanta. “Fanta stands for fun and variety, and our carefree, spontaneous brand personality makes Halloween the perfect time to connect with consumers and help them add a spark to this already fun holiday.”

If you’re a fan of Fanta drinks or of just brilliant design, go get your hands on these cans this Halloween!
