Social media went from a fun social activity to a marketing asset fairly quickly. Social media now plays a pivotal role in your company’s lead generation and online social presence. A potential lead will be more likely to go with a business who has at least one active social media account with consistent posting than one who does not. All around, it’s still constantly changing and there are many different strategies to help you achieve the highest possible ROI (depending on your goals).

Here are some tips to help integrate social media in your strategies.

Strategize

Whether you are trying to refresh your current profile or considering opening an account on a new platform, strategize how to go about it. If you are trying to brush up on content, look at your current content and figure out what is and is not working. For example, what types of posts are obtaining more engagement than others? Start posting more of that content.

If you are considering opening a new account on another social media channel, look into your current customer base and see what social media channels they are using. This is usually a good indication of what potential prospects could be using the most. If it is not the new channel you are looking to get into, skip it. Focus on the channels that work.

Look at Social Media as a Touchpoint

When a potential prospect has visited your website, chances are they will go through your social media. Make sure that posting is consistent, relevant, engaging, and interesting. Social Media can also be a pivotal referral point to drive website traffic. A prospect will be turned off by a desolate social media account and could go to a competitor with a much more engaging account.

Pay Attention to the Data

Running reports is crucial to not only getting the maximum ROI, but to get the most out of your accounts. By visually seeing what is working and what is not, you can react to the data. Whether it is engagement or views, reacting to the data will help boost your numbers.

Finally, Pay Attention to the Platforms

Social media platforms are constantly changing layouts, algorithms, and policies. Set a Google Alert or any type of Push Notifications for the social media channels your business is using. If no one keeps track of this, it could lead to you missing pivotal changes that could affect your company’s appearance or any social advertising. Since social media moves quick, you will not want to be left behind.
